عزيزي عائلات UUCMP،
It was good to be back and seeing several of our RE families last Sunday.   Warren will be standing in for me again this Sunday but I will still be in the building.  In the service this Sunday we will be Honoring Our Pets – If you have a favorite pet please bring a photo or other memento to share on our Remembrance Altar this Sunday during the service.  This can be from a pet from the past, present or a future wish for a furry companion.  Max Cajar and I will be co-leading the service Sunday – and look forward to seeing you!
We have an action-packed week ahead!  
This Saturday is the annual Service Auction – the theme is Fabulous Fiction – we will have activities for the children in our Fireplace Room so please bring the whole family!  You’re invited to dress up as your favorite fictional character.  
After the service on Sunday there will be a luncheon and information session for those who are interested in learning more about Unitarian Universalism, what community connections UUCMP offers, and information about membership.  Childcare will be available.
Lastly, Tuesday we have planned a Pizza and Pumpkins Party – BYOP (Bring Your Own Pumpkin) and please RSVP so I know how many people I will be feeding!  We will also build a haunted gingerbread house that was donated by Monique.
Happening in RE This Sunday:
Our teens will continue Crossing Paths to compare the similarities and differences between Catholic and Protestant beliefs, and how early Christians adopted Pagan symbols and celebrations.  Our Elementary class will have a short lesson on the roots of Halloween and a game to enjoy as a group.  If children are interested they can share about their pets as well.
The Chalice Lighting sign up sheet will be at the RE table with our coloring and quiet activity supplies.  Please be sure to sign your child up if they are interested.  Our newest RE student, Charli,  is scheduled to light the chalice this coming Sunday.

The Nursery will be open with a space for our youngest little ones to play safely while being supervised by Sunny and Leah.  This is also a place for those with babes-in-arms to rest, change diapers or have another set of hands help out.  
Our monthly Committee on Family Ministry met virtually on October 8, 2024 from 7:00pm – 8:15pm.  Please join to learn more about upcoming opportunities and to share your ideas for our RE programming.  Our next meeting will take place in person after the service November 17th.

Upcoming Summer Activities & Events* October 26 – Service Auction – Fabulous Fiction!   Come one, come all dress as your favorite fictional character or group of characters.* October 27 –  Our Membership Committee is hosting a New Members Orientation and luncheon for new members and visitors after the service.  Families – if you would like to attend and childcare is needed, please let Rose Lovell know by October 23rd.* October 29 – Pizza & Pumpkin Carving Party!   Please من فضلك، أرسل رد so we know who is coming and how much pizza to order! 🙂
Parents – Did you know RE Staff are at the building starting at 10:15am?  Plan to arrive before service starts and your children can settle in and play before the service while their adults enjoy coffee and conversation.  After the service, children who are not picked up by 1:55 will walk with staff to be reconnected with their families.  If your family will be out of town, email Shannon dre@uucmp.org لإعلامنا حتى نتمكن من التخطيط للحضور.
? Would your child like to light the chalice?Every Sunday we try to find a child or youth volunteer to light the chalice. It’s a fun way for kids to participate in the service. DRE Shannon can show kids how to do it before the service if it’s their first time or they need a reminder. See Shannon on Sunday morning if interested. Sign Up at the RE Table!
