مرحباً بعائلات UUCMP،
Last Sunday the children were wonderful with their many lines and candles to light – I hope the pageant will be a lasting memory for all.  Most of our families had to dash away to other commitments – Christmas Caroling, a performance in The Nutcracker, and a piano recital!  Our kiddos and their chauffeurs – err I mean parents – are extra busy this time of year.  The holidays can cause a lot of mixed emotions and stress. Remember to breathe and do your best to be in the moment – our presence is the best present we can give our children and one another.
The Sunday ahead marks the fourth of five Sundays in December!  Are you feeling “ready” for the holidays?  We are preparing for a trip to see family in Ohio for the Holidays – at this point, I definitely do not identify as someone who is feeling “ready” for travel or the activities ahead.  I do trust that it will all come together, and will work out even if it doesn’t turn out exactly as planned.
To quote one of my favorite movies…. “I know you can be overwhelmed, and underwhelmed, but can you ever just be whelmed?”   Here’s wishing you a balanced winter whelm as you whirl through the days ahead.
مع خالص التحيات، شانون
Happening this Sunday:  We will have opportunities to slow down – children will get outside – playing on our play structure and have the opportunity to make holiday crafts and cards in the Clara Barton room downstairs.  Rebecca will also be teaching the kids how to spin the dreidel and play for Hanukkah gelt!
Committee on Family Ministry meeting postponed!  More info to follow.
Mittens and Warm Socks – We are still in need of Gloves, Socks and Mittens for the MEN and WOMEN of iHelp – we did receive children’s items which we will donate to All In – but only received 8 sets of gloves/mittens.
RELIGIOUS EXPLORATION LIBRARY – Karen Brown has put together another beautiful selection of books from our collection – many stories about winter holidays, practices and beliefs can be found in the RE library.  Come back and see what books you may want to check out for the youth in your life, or those young at heart.

? Would your child like to light the chalice?Every Sunday we try to find a child or youth volunteer to light the chalice. It’s a fun way for kids to participate in the service. DRE Shannon can show kids how  before the service if it’s their first time or they need a reminder. See Shannon on Sunday morning if interested.    The Chalice Lighting sign up sheet will be at the RE table with our coloring and quiet activity supplies.  Please be sure to sign your child up if they are interested!
?? VOLUNTEERS NEEDEDChurch members without little ones are encouraged to lend a hand so caregivers can have a chance to connect with our wonderful community. Whether you’re willing to bring an activity or a snack to share, help one time or be an extra set of hands if we are short-staffed or volunteer monthly you can  سجل هنا!  نحن نقدر مساعدتكم سواء بالعمل مباشرة مع أطفالنا أو لجعل حرم UUCMP مكانًا آمنًا وممتعًا!
