![]() September 24, 2025 عزيزي عائلات UUCMP، I love the rain! I am writing to you this morning from my warm living room, candles lit and the sounds of rain steadily falling down outside. To me, rain is a clean slate. After the heat yesterday, it is refreshing and nourishing. I plan to make soup this afternoon so we can have grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup for supper. I love this sneak peak to the fall season ahead. Thank you to the small but mighty group that met with me after the service on Sunday to check in about how our church community is serving your families and what our families are needing and able to offer right now. These are turbulent times and having a space to check in and connect is so important. We decided our monthly outings should be planned for Sundays after church going forward – and that different families will take the lead on planning. More notes to follow later today… A reminder – the 9:30 a.m. Sunday service, we will have childcare available in the nursery for little ones. At the 11:15 service we will have a “one-room schoolhouse” model for RE and will continue with a UU LEGO Values lesson on Transformation: We work together to transform our world into a better place for everyone. Children begin with a welcoming circle time—lighting the chalice, sharing, centering, and hearing a story—before moving into hands-on activities. They can build with LEGOS, set up domino runs, create art, or enjoy quiet contemplative activities. Hope that today you find an opportunity to find cozy and comfort today! Warmly,Shannon Morrison (she/her)Director of Religious Exploration, UUCMPRELIGIOUS EXPLORATION LIBRARY – Karen Brown has put together another beautiful selection of books from our collection – many stories about Earth Day, Unitarianism, spiritual practices and beliefs can be found in the RE library. Come back and see what books you may want to check out for the youth in your life, or those young at heart. ???????THANK YOU OUR VOLUNTEERS! We have been so lucky to have helping hands in RE – thank you to our volunteers: Ali Shappard, Suzanne Schmidt, Rebecca Irwin, Maren Martin, Max Cajar, Zeana Bey Davis, Alex Morrison, Lauren Keenan, Jake and Alina Bagley, Ryan and Lindsay Fondren, Marshall Grimm, Robin Jensen, Karen Judkins, and Karen Brown for all your contributions. Whether bringing food to share, helping to set or clean up, keeping our library tip top, or filling in for our teachers – your help is greatly appreciated! ?? |
