Since 1975, Interim, Inc. has provided housing, treatment, and recovery services for adults living with serious mental illness in Monterey County. Each year, Interim serves more than 1,900 people through a comprehensive range of residential treatment, affordable supportive housing, homeless outreach, and social rehabilitation services.
Interim recognizes that safe, stable housing is an important foundation for mental health recovery. Our programs help people obtain and maintain housing, manage the symptoms of mental illness, develop independent living skills, pursue employment and education, build supportive relationships, and connect with needed psychiatric, medical, vocational, and community services.
Services include permanent and transitional supportive housing, residential and crisis treatment, intensive community-based mental health services, outreach and housing assistance for people experiencing homelessness, dual recovery services, employment programs, peer support, and wellness and recovery programs.
Through a strength-based, person-centered approach, Interim helps people move toward greater stability, independence, connection, and recovery—and build lives in which they are able to live, work, learn, and participate fully in their communities.
What does that support mean in the life of someone who receives Interim’s services? We invite you to read one of Interim’s client stories to see how housing, treatment, encouragement, and a supportive community can help someone move forward on their journey toward recovery.
