Liebe UUCMP-Familien,
October is here and with it comes shorter days and the start of longer nights.  I am thankful so many of our families were able to get together for the Autumn Equinox – it helps to know that we are not alone on this journey through parenting and through the stars.  I find myself feeling sensitive to the changes of the seasons – and although I love everything about autumn – I still find myself with less energy and feeling sluggish.  I hope you and your family will have a chance to notice the changes of the season and make space for whatever is coming your way.
Teens and Tweens: This Sunday our teens will pause Crossing Paths for Fall Break  – there will be a chance for students to take a walk in nature and see if they can find more banana slugs than our elementary kiddos did last Sunday (7!!!)
Elementary Explorations: As the seasons change, we will focus on Deep Listening this month. Our elementary grade students will deepen their connections with one another and the natural world.  Daisy and Rachael will have some fall themed crafts planned for our children – incorporating signs of fall.
The Nursery will be open with a space for our youngest little ones to play safely while being supervised by Sunny and Leah.  This is also a place for those with babes-in-arms to rest, change diapers or have another set of hands help out.  
Our monthly Committee on Family Ministry will meet again virtually on October 8, 2024 from 7:00pm – 8:15pm.  Please join to learn more about upcoming opportunities and to share your ideas for our RE programming.

Upcoming Summer Activities & Events* October 4 –  UUCMP First Friday Game Night!* October 6 –  Outing to Earthbound Farms Pumpkin Patch* October 8 – Committee on Family Ministry Virtual Meeting 7-8:15pm* October 27 –  Our Membership Committee is hosting a New Members Orientation and luncheon for new members and visitors.  Families – if you would like to attend and childcare is needed, please let Rose Lovell know by October 23rd.* October 29 – Pizza & Pumpkin Carving Party!
Parents – Did you know RE Staff are at the building starting at 10:15am?  Plan to arrive before service starts and your children can settle in and play before the service while their adults enjoy coffee and conversation.  After the service, children who are not picked up by 1:55 will walk with staff to be reconnected with their families.  If your family will be out of town, email Shannon dre@uucmp.org um uns Bescheid zu geben, damit wir die Teilnahme planen können.
? Would your child like to light the chalice?Jeden Sonntag versuchen wir, ein Kind oder einen Jugendlichen zu finden, der den Kelch anzündet. Das ist eine tolle Möglichkeit für Kinder, am Gottesdienst teilzunehmen. DRE Shannon kann Kindern vor dem Gottesdienst zeigen, wie es geht, wenn sie zum ersten Mal dabei sind oder eine Erinnerung brauchen. Bei Interesse wenden Sie sich am Sonntagmorgen an Shannon.
