The COPA core team at UUCMP  would like to invite you to our upcoming UUCMP Civic Academy. We will be joined by several other COPA member institutions. We will feature a teaching from UUCMP member Dr. Sundeep Gupta who is a Medical Epidemiologist and Family Physician who has spent more than 15 years fighting disease outbreaks both domestically and internationally including against an HIV epidemic in sub-Saharan Africa countries, Ebola in Liberia, Yellow Fever in Uganda, and Salmonella in the United States. He  has worked extensively with Monterey County’s farmworker population, and currently works at Natividad Hospital. We will also hear from COPA leaders from around Monterey county their firsthand experiences trying to keep their families safe from COVID, and hear about the work COPA has been doing to help get Monterey County out of the highest infection rate in the state. We are inviting local officials to be present and to respond to our calls for action. It will be a great opportunity to learn from our community members and have a dialogue about the effects that COVID has had on our lives. We hope to see you and that we have a record-breaking turnout. Because this will be a bilingual event, we ask that you register in advance by clicking on the following link HERE.
