Artist’s Statement:

All of the photos in this exhibition were taken in 2021, near the height of the Covid pandemic. Not much good can be said about the pandemic, save for the fact that the forced isolation created a lot of time for introspection. During those days, the age-old maxim, “it’s the little things in life that matter,” suddenly took on more meaning and importance for me. This led to looking more closely at “the little things” around me, and I began to appreciate certain attributes that had previously gone unnoticed. I was particularly drawn to wild grasses, grass seeds, flowers and other flora, and through my camera, I discovered many surprisingly beautiful colors, shapes and patterns. I’m grateful for this opportunity to share the elegant, delightful, intriguing and sometimes mysterious ways in which the Life Force continually expresses itself.
