May 6, 2026Last Sunday we returned to ONE SERVICE.  The service starts at 10:30 so be sure to arrive by 10:15 so little people get a chance to eat a snack or play on the playground before coming in to sit with their families.  It will be quite crowded so be sure to sit close with your neighbors and fill in any gaps to leave space for anyone arriving late. A new Month also means a new monthly theme – May is Awakening Curiosity – and I wonder what curiosity will awaken in you in these weeks ahead. This Sunday is Mother’s Day!  How will you celebrate or remember the mothers … RE Weekly News 5/6/26を読み続ける

April 22, 2026Hello from Oberlin!  The spring weather has fluctuated day by day, with sunshine and warmth, thunder and lighting, rain sprinkles and downpour, hail, and an overnight freeze that left us with silvery sparkling lawns and trees.  Today the warmth and humidity is back!  The sunshine is pouring in through the dining room window.  Both Charlie and Bruce took the bus to their new schools and I am left here to write an update to all of you 🙂 I’ve heard the peninsula has had its share of April Showers – which I hope will indeed bring May Flowers!  Before I left I planted a few seeds in our … RE Weekly News 4/22/26を読み続ける

April 8, 2026Dearest Gentle REaders,Last Sunday we had a wonderful turn out – many children attended including some visiting families during our first service.  We learned a bit about the story of Passover while our teens were working with RE teachers and volunteers to play the role of easter bunnies hiding eggs on the playground.  Children worked together to help one another find the eggs – about 25 eggs each.  The eggs were then EGGchanged for a variety of treats and small treasures.  Thank you to Rebecca Irwin who filled in for me as the DRE for the day and to our wonderful team of RE teachers and volunteers. This Sunday … RE Weekly News 4/8/26を読み続ける

March 18, 2026I awoke very early this morning, drawn into the quiet of the dark before the sunrise. In these still hours, I find myself tending to a few small, waiting tasks—writing this article, paying a bill, starting a load of laundry. There’s something about the quiet, undistracted time that makes space for focus and intention.By the end of this week, we will reach the Spring Equinox—a moment of balance between light and darkness. From there, the days begin to stretch, and the light slowly takes the lead.  With that shift often comes a kind of stirring. You may be feeling it—the urge to begin something new, to move, to … RE Weekly News 3/18/26を読み続ける
