September 24, 2025Dear UUCMP Families,I love the rain!  I am writing to you this morning from my warm living room, candles lit and the sounds of rain steadily falling down outside.  To me, rain is a clean slate.  After the heat yesterday, it is refreshing and nourishing.  I plan to make soup this afternoon so we can have grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup for supper.  I love this sneak peak to the fall season ahead.Thank you to the small but mighty group that met with me after the service on Sunday to check in about how our church community is serving your families and what our families are needing … RE Weekly News 9/24/25を読み続ける

August 27, 2025Dear UUCMP Families,It was so wonderful to see so many families at the camp out, whether you camped the whole weekend, one night or just made it up for a day visit. I hope that your spirit felt renewal and connection in the beautiful forest next to the banks of the Big Sur river.  Most of our kids were at the forest Sunday morning – at the building a service that mirrored the message in the forest took place – and the R.E. Team met to plan and work on preparations for the switch to two services, and our upcoming lesson plans. One more note, our Committee on Family Ministry … RE Weekly News 8/27/25を読み続ける

August 13, 2025Dear UUCMP Families,It was such a joy to connect with you all last Sunday! Our older children explored the Unitarian Universalist value of Generosity in Community. Together, we wondered: What does it truly mean to be generous? We talked about how generosity is more than just giving things—it’s offering time, attention, kindness, and care. The children shared beautiful examples of ways we can help one another, from lending a hand to a neighbor to standing together for justice. We also reflected on how acts of generosity—big and small—help weave the bonds of a strong, loving community, one that supports both those within our circle and those beyond it … RE Weekly News 8/13/25を読み続ける

July 30, 2025Dear UUCMP Families,Last Sunday our elementary age group had a big turn out with many of our families returning and some visitors as well.  I anticipate we will have several more families back with us this Sunday – and so we will be ready with fun activities and lessons for all ages. For most families with school age children, this is the last weekend before we get back to the classroom.   Adults and children may be experiencing anxiety or a sense of relief to get back to a regular routine – perhaps a bit of both with many other feelings in the mix.  Hope that we will be … RE Weekly News 7/30/25を読み続ける

July 23, 2025Dear UUCMP Families,This Sunday, our children will continue exploring the LEGO Values curriculum with a focus on Pluralism—a core Unitarian Universalist teaching.Together, we’ll be highlighting that:Unitarian Universalists honor many spiritual practices. We are a pluralistic faith, meaning there’s no single “right” way to connect with community or the divine. Each person can find spiritual practices that are meaningful to them.Similar practices appear across many different religious traditions. We believe nearly every religion offers wisdom and inspiration. There’s room for many different spiritual paths in Unitarian Universalism. We listen with curiosity and respect, and we learn from each other.Although I’ll be out of town this Sunday, our amazing team of caring teachers will be … RE Weekly News 7/23/25を読み続ける
