According to scripture, in the beginning, when the earth was without form and void, God’s spirit moved upon the face of the waters. The deep and mysterious waters seemed inaccessible even to the creator of heaven and earth. Scientists say, in the beginning life itself arose from the oceans, and to this day human life is sustained by the seas. We live at the edge of an ocean, some of us see it every day. What deeper meanings might we find below the surface?
