In the movie, Conclave, about the election of a new Pope for the Catholic Church, the lead Cardinal talks about the role of doubt in unity, tolerance and faith development. I would add compassion to the list. As Unitarian Universalists, we’re very familiar with doubt, and as we see it, doubt calls us to an openheartedness toward others.
