Hello UUCMP Families,
Last Sunday our youngest children got to enjoy fresh playdough, dress up and stories with Ms. Sunny and parent guest volunteer Lindsay Fondren.  Thank you, Lindsay, for being our second adult in the nursery last week!  Elementary children had a chance to play outside then hear the story of The Empty Pot as well as play games together to illustrate the importance of trust and being trustworthy to others.  Teens and Tweens had the opportunity to interview Murtaza Mogri as he shared some of his experiences of growing up in a Muslim household and how that impacted his faith and beliefs today.  Thank you, Murtaza, for spending time with our teens and answering their questions. This Sunday Nursery (6 months to age 5)  teachers will have a simple craft and snack along with free choice play activities in the nursery.
Elementary (ages 5-11) teachers will have an activity and discussion about the story for all ages and the role of trust in our lives.  They will get a chance to play outside before we come in for a morning snack, those who didn’t get the opportunity to do the trust activity will get the chance to try the game.
Our Teens and Tweens (12+) will have the opportunity to make plans with their teachers for the remaining sessions and give input to fall planning.  Will also have the opportunity to set up Trust obstacle course for each other and elementary kids.
Warmly,Shannon
RELIGIOUS EXPLORATION LIBRARY – Karen Brown has put together another beautiful selection of books from our collection – many stories about Martin Luther King, practices and beliefs can be found in the RE library.  Come back and see what books you may want to check out for the youth in your life, or those young at heart.
PROGRAM REGISTRATION – Please be sure to Register for RE Programming 2024-25.  This will help us best prepare for your child, keep you in the loop for upcoming events and activities and build our community.  Printed copies of the registration are available if you are having difficulty with the google form.

See Shannon on Sunday morning if interested.    The Chalice Lighting sign up sheet will be at the RE table with our coloring and quiet activity supplies.  Please be sure to sign your child up if they are interested!
