RE Lingguhang Balita 2/19/25

Hello UUCMP Families,Last Sunday all of our kids joined together to play outside and gathered under the big pine tree to learn about Tu B’Shevat – or New Year of the Trees.  We then celebrated by sharing a seder plate of various fruits, fresh and dried while Rebecca shared the origin of the holiday.  With Daisy’s help we also created our own CommuniTree using our thumbprints and shaping them into various fruits and animals.  
This Sunday our Nursery (6 months to age 5)  teachers will have a simple craft and snack along with free choice play activities in the nursery.    Elementary (ages 5-11) teachers will have an activity and discussion about the story for all ages and the role of inclusion in our lives.  They will get a chance to play outside before we come in for morning snack.  Our Teens and Tweens (12+) will have the opportunity to join the younger children again this Sunday as we think more about the role of inclusion.
Thank you to Catherine Ferguson and the Mogri family, the Bagley family, the Bey-Davis family and the Fondren family for joining after the service last Sunday to plant seeds and share special treats for an Imbolc celebration!

RELIGIOUS EXPLORATION LIBRARY – Karen Brown has put together another beautiful selection of books from our collection – many stories about Martin Luther King, practices and beliefs can be found in the RE library.  Come back and see what books you may want to check out for the youth in your life, or those young at heart.
PROGRAM REGISTRATION – Please be sure to Register for RE Programming 2024-25.  This will help us best prepare for your child, keep you in the loop for upcoming events and activities and build our community.  Printed copies of the registration are available if you are having difficulty with the google form.

??  Upcoming Activities & EventsFebruary 23 – Committee on Family Ministry 12:15-1:15 – Fireplace Conference RoomMarch 29 – Parents Night Out  – 4:30 -8:30 for children 5+$35 for first child additional siblings $20 each.  We will provide a pizza dinner, movie, snacks and activities for the kids while parents get the night off!  Register in advance and sign in at the Fireplace Conference Room that night!
? Would your child like to light the chalice?Every Sunday we try to find a child or youth volunteer to light the chalice. It’s a fun way for kids to participate in the service. DRE Shannon can show kids how  before the service if it’s their first time or they need a reminder. See Shannon on Sunday morning if interested.    The Chalice Lighting sign up sheet will be at the RE table with our coloring and quiet activity supplies.  Please be sure to sign your child up if they are interested!
