November 27, 2024 大家好,UUCMP 家庭, Whether you are traveling, hosting or enjoying a quiet day, I wish you a warm and safe holiday. Our family usually travels to connect with family and friends in Sacramento but we will spend this year at the UUCMP Friendsgiving. The Sunday ahead marks the first of five Sundays in December! We will be working on our Winter Pageant – Introducing our Mitten Tree to the congregation, singing songs and will continue learning about various sources of winter light. The Teens will have a break from Crossing Paths and join us upstairs for our activities. All children will get to learn stories about Saint Nicholas and Santa Lucia. Things to bring this Sunday: Bring a pair of shoes that can stay in their classroom for the week (or that you would like to donate)! Each child will get to polish their shoes and put out for Saint Nicholas Day – they will see what gifts they receive next Sunday (spoiler alert -it’s usually oranges and chocolate!).Traditions – Children will have a chance to share their families traditions over the coming weeks.Mittens and Warm Socks – Our Mitten Tree will go up this Sunday to begin collecting warm mittens and socks for our iHelp men and women. We hope to collect 40 sets of mittens/gloves and socks. Please let Shannon know if your child would like to read the announcement about our mitten tree Sunday morning. Religion Exploration Library – Karen Brown has put together another beautiful selection of books from our collection – many stories about Native Americans and indigenous people, practices and beliefs can be found in the RE library. Come back and see what books you may want to check out for the youth in your life, or those young at heart. PROGRAM REGISTRATION – Please be sure to Register for RE Programming 2024-25. This will help us best prepare for your child, keep you in the loop for upcoming events and activities and build our community. 热忱地, 香农 |
???????THANK YOU OUR VOLUNTEERS! We have been so lucky to have helping hands in RE – thank you to our November volunteers: Lauren Keenan, Max Cajar, Fred Hamilton, Monique Romero, Roberta Granados, Lindsay Fondren, Amy Blondell, and Karen Brown for all your contributions this month. Whether bringing food to share, helping to set or clean up, keeping our library tip top, or filling in for our teachers – your help is greatly appreciated! |
