Yet it has provided an opportunity, too, to take stock of what we miss – and what we don’t miss – about friendships and other relationships that we may have taken for granted. No matter what our social needs are, or how comfortable we are with self-disclosure, friendships can be very important for our wellbeing and our sense of community. How might we be more intentional about tending these important relationships?

This service will offer a look at our individual choices from among the many possibilities and the choice to create our own.

It is this collision of the world as it is and the world as it might be that is the spiritual heart of this powerful story. How are we challenged to accept what is while dreaming for something better?

Yet if we are willing to face the situation, we can join with others to work for a healthier Earth. Today we will acknowledge the challenges ahead and draw strength from our UU faith, which turns love into action.
