The song says, “Oh, it’s a long, long while, from May to December. But the days grow short when you reach September . . .” A little September, October, November and a lot of December. That’s Autumn, the season of great change in the natural world, and the season of anxiety and harvest. Everything begins to close down, from flower petals to farm stands. Even our hearts. Perhaps we should consider Autumn in a different light. Instead of closing down, we might think of Autumn as a time of regeneration of an old cycle of life that needs rekindling. Isn’t love the best kindling of all for life? If you’d like to join our service via Zoom, please click here.
