Many of us experience moments of epiphany in our lives, when our perspectives shift dramatically. Likewise, there are times in our societies when something monumental seems to change overnight. Yet most often, like the buildup of pressure before an earthquake, what seems sudden is the result of forces at work for a very long time. Today we consider what it takes to stay engaged, to keep laying the groundwork for “sudden” transformations in our institution and individuals – including ourselves.
