In the Unitarian Universalist tradition, marriage is one of the most significant life passages we can experience—a momentous occasion unique to each couple, and one that should be marked by ritual observance, a spiritual dimension, and festive celebration.

We believe the wedding should reflect the unique values, personalities, and intentions of the couple. Our ministers will work with you so that you can articulate your deepest values and hopes for the wedded life into which you are embarking.

We view marriage as the beginning of a significant new phase in your life. Our wedding ceremonies aim to help facilitate the growth of your relationship as you lay the groundwork for its next phase. They can be formal or informal, but all are lovely and creative. They uphold the deep Unitarian Universalist belief in the inherent worth and dignity of every human being.

Our weddings center on the couple getting married, and on the friends and family who love you and will support you as you join your lives.

We have been leaders in the movement for marriage equality, and we welcome all couples who wish to sanctify their commitment to each other. Couples of many faith traditions choose a Unitarian Universalist wedding, and we are open and flexible in the design of the ceremony. Our ministers can officiate at our beautiful Monterey Peninsula sanctuary, or at a location of your choosing.

Our sanctuary has seating for 100 guests. The sanctuary can accommodate as many as 80 for dining at your reception. We also have a kitchen suitable for serving catered meals and an area that works well for buffet service.
